Microsoft Introduces Xbox Series X Console Wraps
Microsoft has unveiled a new line of Xbox Series X console wraps that provide an affordable alternative to purchasing a separate limited edition console. The first console wrap to be released will be for the highly anticipated game Starfield, launching on October 18th at a price of $49.99.
Unlike traditional stickers, these console wraps are designed to securely fasten to the Xbox Series X using a velcro hook and loop enclosure. The Starfield wrap features panels that resemble the limited edition Starfield-branded Xbox controller, with outlined access panels and game-inspired graphics, showcasing key internal console components.
The console wraps not only offer visual customization but also tactile graphics with a smooth white finish and an internal fabric that adheres to the Xbox Series X. Microsoft plans to release two camo-patterned wraps on November 10th, priced at $44.99 each, including a gray option and a blue “mineral” version that matches the existing Arctic and Mineral Camo controllers.
This marks the first time Microsoft has provided custom wraps for an Xbox console since allowing Xbox 360 owners to customize their consolesremoving the faceplate. In recent years, Microsoft has focused on producing custom-designed consoles, but the introduction of these wraps now allows users to achieve an official custom look without purchasing a limited edition console.
These console wraps serve as Microsoft’s response to the removable side panels offered for Sony’s PS5. Sony has also started selling custom covers for existing PS5 owners, along with a special Spider-Man-branded console.
Overall, Microsoft’s Xbox Series X console wraps offer an affordable and customizable option for gamers looking to personalize their consoles without the need for a limited edition release.
