Spider

Peter Parker's Spider-Man has had 3 films and 3 appearances in the MCU thus far, resulting in 8 total costumes the Webslinger has worn since 2016.

The MCU's Spider-Man has had quite a few different costumes across his various appearances. Played by Tom Holland, Peter Parker was originally recruited to help Iron Man during the events of Captain America: Civil Wars, becoming Tony Stark's protégé in the MCU up until the Armored Avenger died in Avengers: Endgame. As a result, the majority of Spider-Man's suits in the MCU were either made by Iron Man or by Peter Parker himself.

Both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield had impressive live-action costumes in their own Spider-Man franchises. However, Holland's Peter Parker has certainly had the most with a much wider variety of styles. Here are all of Spider-Man's costumes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (ranked from worst to best).

Briefly appearing on Youtube and in Peter Parker's closet in Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man's homemade suit made its full debut in Spider-Man: Homecoming after Tony Stark took the first suit he made for Peter away. Cobbled together using sweat clothes, a ski mask, and special goggles to help the young Webslinger focus, Peter Parker donned his original suit during his final battle with Michael Keaton's Vulture. While it is fun to see Peter proving his ability as a hero without a special suit, it's obviously not the most visually impressive costume compared to all the others that would come after in the MCU.

Making its first and last appearance in Spider-Man: Far From Home, Nick Fury recruited Spider-Man to face what he believed were elemental beings from another dimension, In truth, these creatures were illusions created by Quentin Beck's Mysterio and his team to make Beck look like a hero. Because Peter wanted to maintain his secret identity during his school trip in Europe, Nick Fury provided Spider-Man with a simple all-black tactical suit to replace his traditional costume. However, it was also the suit responsible for giving Peter Parker the new superhero name "Night Monkey" courtesy of his friend Ned.

Briefly appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter Parker's black-and-gold Spider suit was actually his red-and-black suit worn inside out after a Mysterio supporter splashed green paint on Spider-Man. However, Peter Parker also wielded the magic gauntlet provided by Doctor Strange while wearing this new style, allowing him to send the multiversal villains Electro and Sandman to the Sanctum Sanctorum's undercroft. However, this isn't exactly a "new" costume (hence its lower ranking compared to Spider-Man's other MCU costumes).

The second costume created for Spider-Man by Tony Stark's Iron Man, the Iron Spider armor briefly appeared at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming. Ready to make Peter Parker an official Avenger after the young hero proved himself against Vulture, Spider-Man declined both the offer and the suit, wanting to be a Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man for a little while longer. However, Peter eventually accepted the suit in Avengers: Infinity War, joining Iron Man in space to battle Thanos himself. Following the defeat of the Ebony Maw and Peter's first victory wearing the Iron Spider suit with its multiple arms for defense, Stark made Parker an official member of Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

The Iron Spider suit was also seen in both Avengers: Endgame and a brief appearance in Far From Home (though an entire sequence with Peter wearing the armor was deleted from the theatrical cut). Nevertheless, the Iron Spider was also featured during Spider-Man's battle with Doctor Octopus before the suit's nano-tech was used to subdue Octavius' arms. Having had the most appearances while also being Spider-Man's most powerful costume, the Iron Spider armor inspired by the comics' costume of the same name is quite the visual spectacle, showing just how connected Spider-Man was to Iron Man in the MCU, though the armor is more CGI compared to the other costumes.

A literal mix of Spider-Man's Iron Spider armor and his Upgraded Suit from Far From Home, the remaining nanotech from the armor merged with Peter Parker's costume once Doctor Octopus had been cured, creating a whole new costume and style for Spider-Man in the third act of No Way Home. The last suit to feature Stark technology, the Integrated suit was quite impressive while also creating an epic means for audiences to better identify Tom Holland's Spider-Man as he swung side by side with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's versions of Spider-Man who arrived from their own realities to help send their villains back home.

The very first suit the MCU's Spider-Man received from Iron Man, Peter Parker's classic blue-and-red suit was worn during his debut to the other Avengers in Captain America: Civil War. This particular suit was also the very first to feature the focusing eye lenses in the mask, an ingenious way to show Iron Man helping Peter Parker focus his heightened senses while also being a means of depicting Spider-Man's emotions behind the mask just like the comics. It's the one thing that's remained consistent across all of Spider-Man's suits in the MCU, having originated with the very first official costume (while still being inspired by Peter's original goggle design).

Featured at the very end of No Way Home, Spider-Man crafted his very own red-and-blue Spider suit, albeit sleeker with a more classic spider symbol. Completely devoid of Stark tech, this final suit was inspired by Spider-Man's fellow variants, symbolizing his evolution into his own hero apart from his past mentor Iron Man as well as his more isolated status quo following Doctor Strange's final spell that made everyone forget Peter Parker. While its appearance was incredibly brief, the hope would be that this amazing suit will be featured again, potentially even becoming the suit Spider-Man sticks with in perpetuity due to its crucial significance and meaning.

In Far From Home, Spider-Man makes the realization that he will never be the next Iron Man in the MCU. Instead, it becomes clear that Tony Stark always wanted Peter to forge his own legacy, one that could very well become even greater than even Iron Man's. As such, the culmination of this discovery and evolution for Peter is his Upgraded Spider suit.

Designed by Peter himself, the stunning red-and-black color scheme and features such as web wings are all callbacks to Spider-Man's first appearance in the comics as designed by original Spider-Man artist and creator Steve Ditko. As such, it's easily the best suit Spider-Man every wore in the MCU, becoming the foundation for both the Reversed Suit and Integrated Suit in No Way Home. Additionally, it's the symbolic first step of Spider-Man forging his own legacy in the MCU, followed by the Final No Way Home suit which continues that concept even further.
