2024 Maserati Grancabrio Unveiled Without Camo

The highly anticipated new Maserati Grancabrio has been spotted without any camouflage, signaling its imminent reveal in the coming months. The luxury drop-top GT appears completely undisguised in a pre-reveal publicity photo shoot, showcasing its aggressive body styling and exhaust pipes that identify it as the top-of-the-line Trofeo V6 model. Additionally, Maserati will also release a near-identical pure-electric version of the Grancabrio.

The convertible version of the Maserati Granturismo will have the same specifications as the coupe, according to the Italian automaker. This means that the Grancabrio will offer two V6 engine options with 489bhp and 550bhp, as well as a Folgore-badged EV with 745bhp. The electric version, named after the Italian word for “thunderbolt,” will be the first electric convertible grand tourer on the market.

The Folgore EV boasts a range of approximately 280 miles from its 83kWh battery. It is equipped with three electric motors – one at the front and two at the rear – providing all-wheel drive capability. With more than 997lb ft of torque, it can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 2.7 seconds and achieve a top speed of 199mph. The Folgore also features a maximum charge rate of 270kW, ensuring quick and efficient charging.

As for the petrol versions, they will be powered by the Nettuno 3.0-litre V6 engine, which is also found in Maserati’s flagship model, the MC20. The range-topping Trofeo editions are expected to match the MC20’s impressive 0-62mph sprint time of 3.5 seconds. Spy photographers have also spotted a variant of the Grancabrio with a fabric roof, quad exhausts, and heavy camouflage during testing.

The Maserati Grancabrio is expected to have a starting price of £200,000 and above, positioning it as a direct rival to the Bentley Continental GTC. This price range is consistent with the previous generation of the Grancabrio, which was retired in 2019 along with the Granturismo. The high price tag reflects the exclusivity and luxury that Maserati offers in its convertible GT models.

The Grancabrio will be launched alongside an electric version of the new Maserati Grecale SUV. Maserati has ambitious plans to have an entirely electric model range by 2025, with electric versions of the Levante, Quattroporte, and MC20 supercar in the pipeline. This commitment to electrification aligns with the industry-wide shift towards sustainable mobility and showcases Maserati’s dedication to innovation and performance.

The new Maserati Grancabrio is set to make a grand entrance into the luxury convertible GT segment. With its stunning design, powerful engine options, and the introduction of an electric variant, Maserati is poised to captivate car enthusiasts who crave both performance and sustainability. The Grancabrio’s fierce competition with the Bentley Continental GTC and Maserati’s commitment to an electric future solidify its position as a frontrunner in the world of high-end convertibles.
